The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Acting is a two year programme which allows you to progress onto a Degree level course, audition for drama schools or to provide you with skills to find employment. The programme is structured so that in the first year you achieve a 90 credit Diploma which is then topped up to an Extended Diploma at the end of the second year.
The Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Acting) encompasses a wide variety of projects that introduces you to varied styles, genres and methodologies. With a focus on development of the practical skills required, you will explore areas such as devising, classical text, contemporary text, movement and voice. The projects will introduce you to acting styles such as naturalism, epic, surrealism and physical theatre through scripted and devised projects.
ESPA provide a supportive environment that fosters not only the artistic development but also intellectual and personal development within all its students. The training is based around practical sessions and performance experience, where skills and techniques are brought together. Students will also study the historical, stylistic and professional aspects of the industry. The course will run across both the ESPA Castle House campus as well as utilising the studio and theatre facilities at Stamford College's Drift Road Campus, allowing students to develop their experience in different rehearsal environments.
You will perform in the full school showcase during the first year along with experiencing industry workshops from guest tutors.
