The UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Performance is designed for students who have successfully completed a Level 3 qualification and are seeking an additional year of intensive, specialist training. The programme provides an opportunity to refine performance skills, develop professional practice, and gain greater confidence and independence before progressing to the next stage of study, training, or employment.

Students follow one of three specialist pathways: Musical Theatre, Dance, or Acting - with pathway placement informed by both individual aspirations and the audition process, ensuring students are supported in the area best suited to their strengths and progression goals.

Students receive 15 hours of contact time per week and follow a specialist timetable within their pathway, designed to develop the technical, creative, and professional skills required within their discipline. Through practical classes, tutorials, and audition preparation, students build technical skills, confidence, and professional understanding while developing greater independence as performers and artists.

The programme combines practical training with professional development, theory, tutorials, and audition preparation. Students also have opportunities to collaborate with learners across the wider performance provision, broadening their experience and developing the versatility, communication, and teamwork skills valued throughout the creative industries.

Through intensive, fully funded training, students are supported to progress to Higher Education, vocational training, employment within the creative industries, or other pathways aligned with their personal ambitions and career goals.
